Event Description:
*Women Helping Women Heal Conference on January 13, 2018 4-6pm at
New Life SDA Church Huntsville AL at New Life Seventh-day Adventist Church (Huntsville) 3912 Pulaski Pike.
We will have a special guest speaker Kitty Bey
Kitty Bey is the Author and story owner of “Crossover” adapted in part by the ESPN E60 story “Scarred” produced and directed by ESPN executive Producer, Martin Khodabakhshian. Kitty is also the creator of the action pack, domestic violence driven television series,” KittyCiti, The Kitty series” scheduled to debut October 2017.
After 10 years of abuse, her then husband stabbed Kitty and her son Deejay in a horrific act of violence. Kitty and Deejay persevered, and Kitty became an advocate for domestic violence and speaks around the country bringing awareness to this often hidden and silent crime--hidden in that many are unaware of how common it is and silent because many victims suffer in silence.
Her mission is to bring Domestic Violence to the forefront of the mind of the nation because she believes; many are still unaware that Domestic Violence is an epidemic. Kitty is adamant about magnifying this epidemic nationally as well as internationally, as she prepares to travel to Argentina and to the Dominican Republic. Her book will be included in the curriculum at CCNY beginning in the fall of 2017.
Regarding domestic violence, Kitty created and stands by her quote that she is “not a victim and she is more than a survivor, she is a conqueror of domestic violence”
